Plain-English summary of how Lighthouse handles information
Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 10, 2026
Lighthouse is developed by Joshua Reid. This policy explains how information may be handled when you use the app. It is written for clarity and does not provide legal advice.
1) Core approach
- Lighthouse is a local-first app for personal organization and reflection.
- The app does not require a developer-hosted account system.
- You generally enter and manage your own information directly in the app.
2) What is stored by default
Information you create in Lighthouse is stored locally on your device by default. We do not currently require you to submit personal information to create or use an account.
3) Optional sharing and CloudKit
Lighthouse includes optional, user-initiated sharing features. If you choose to use these features, selected information may be shared through Apple CloudKit and your iCloud environment.
- Sharing with friends uses CloudKit sharing links.
- Shared category updates may sync through CloudKit when participants make changes.
- Shared categories may include mood, calendar, journals, and medication.
Depending on the features you use, shared information may be stored or processed by Apple as part of iCloud/CloudKit services.
4) What we do not currently do
- We do not currently sell user data.
- We do not currently run third-party advertising trackers in Lighthouse.
- We do not currently require a separate developer account to use core app features.
5) Product scope and health claims
Lighthouse is an organizational and reflective tool, including for people managing dissociative identity disorder (DID) or similarly complex internal organization needs. It is not a medical service, diagnosis tool, treatment, or emergency support service.
6) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy over time as features change. If we do, we will update the effective date on this page.
