Lighthouse

Privacy Policy

Effective April 10, 2026Updated June 14, 2026

Lighthouse is local-first. Your information stays on your device by default, there is no required account, and nothing is sold or sent to advertising trackers. Sharing is optional and only happens when you choose it.

Lighthouse is developed by Joshua Reid. This policy explains, in plain language, how information is handled when you use the app. It is written for clarity and does not constitute legal advice.

The short version

Lighthouse is a personal organization and reflection app. You enter and manage your own information directly in the app, and it stays on your device unless you deliberately share it.

There is no developer-run account system, no advertising, and no sale of your data. This page explains the details in plain language; it is not legal advice.

What is stored, and where

Information you create in Lighthouse — journals, mood check-ins, calendar and routine entries, and medication notes — is stored locally on your device by default.

You are not required to submit personal information to the developer to create or use the app.

Optional sharing (Apple CloudKit)

Lighthouse includes optional, user-initiated sharing. If you choose to share selected categories with friends, that sharing uses Apple CloudKit and a sharing link.

When a shared category is updated, those updates may sync through your iCloud / CloudKit environment so the people you shared with stay current. Shared categories can include mood, calendar, journals, and medication — depending on what you choose to share.

Anything handled through CloudKit is processed by Apple as part of iCloud, under Apple’s own privacy terms. If you never use sharing, your data never goes to CloudKit.

What Lighthouse does not do

We do not sell your data.

We do not run third-party advertising or tracking SDKs in the app.

We do not require a separate developer account to use the core features.

Scope — and what this is not

Lighthouse is an organizational and reflective tool, including for people managing dissociative identity disorder (DID) or similarly complex internal organization needs.

It is not a medical service, a diagnostic or treatment tool, or an emergency resource. If you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line.

Children

Lighthouse is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes & contact

We may update this policy as the app’s features change. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date above.

Questions about privacy? Use the contact form on the home page — it reaches the developer directly without exposing an email address.
